I was diagnosed in 1979 at the age of 11 with type 1 diabetes. After 39 years of battling brittle diabetes I have hit end- stage 4 renal disease in other words, Chronic Kidney Disease.
My husband and I just celebrated our 31st anniversary. We have 3 beautiful adult children(2 daughters and our son). We have a wonderful 6 year old grandson and our granddaughter is getting ready to turn 6 months old in July. Transplantation is the only option, but even though we have insurance, unfortunately it does not cover the transplant 100% or the other things that connected with a transplant.
There are traveling expenses related to appointments, relocation right before and after the transplant to be closer to the hospital, co-pays and/or payment for medication (for the rest of my life) and hospital expenses not covered by insurance. And these are just a few things.
I want to spend another 31 years with my husband, share in the joy of my grandchildren and see more of them born. I can do that with your help .
Please make a donation!!!
My family and I are raising money for the nonprofit Help Hope Live to fund uninsured medical expenses associated with transplantation. We chose to fundraise for Help Hope Live in part because Help Hope Live assures fiscal accountability of funds raised and tax deductibility to the full extent allowed by law for contributors. Contributors can be sure donations will be used to pay or reimburse medical and related expenses.
To make a tax-deductible donation to this fundraising campaign, click on the GIVE button. And please consider sharing this link with others so they may donate as well.
Thank you for your prayers, support, and generosity.

Just got a phone call. Tom and I go tomorrow for dialysis class.we will learn the different types, even though I've pretty much already made up my mind which one I'm going with.
Still haven't been listed anywhere, but I have completed all of my testing which can be transferred. Now thinking about heading to D. C., and up to New Jersey. Penn State also said going west and south, southwest might get a quicker result. I have a few leads to follow and some more research to do. I want to say thank you for all the love, support, and prayers from everyone. I hope to update you again soon.
hang in there! God has your back

Our daughter-in-law Lara has brittle diabetes. She like you was diagnosed at age 11, too. She can no longer tell when her sugar is high. She is always very tired. Chris stays very worried about her. I hope you get your transplant soon and that it brings positive changes to your life. I pray Lara can get the help she needs too.
