Power Scooter Fundraiser

One of the motors on my donated power chair died June 12, 2021. So, I am in need of new power mobility equipment so I can leave my home. Medicare does not consider the ability to leave my home medically necessary. Since I have a manual chair with a SmartDrive power assist that is really only suitable for home use, neither a power wheelchair nor a mobility scooter would be covered by insurance.

Beside my left below the knee amputation I have arthritis and other pain and fatigue related conditions. So I need power equipment to get my mail, run errands, go to appointments, take my Service Dog Tallene for walks for her exercise, socialize outside my home - basically anytime I leave my home.

I have decided to buy a new scooter rather than get a used one. That way I am not concerned about when it will break and what it will cost to repair since repairs would also not be covered by insurance. I've carefully considered how I plan to use it. It is a piece of equipment I will need the rest of my life. I do not need the features of a power wheelchair. Since power scooters are less expensive than a comparable power chair I have chosen a scooter. I've done my research and have chosen a brand and model with a great reputation and service. The AFIKIM Afiscooter C4 Mobility Scooter 4-Wheel.
