Attached is a status report. This VME is currently in Phase 3 which has three areas to complete which includes:

The vendor has to return VR3408 listing the modified equipment.

A process of reviews and approvals are completed in Phase 3 which address the modified equipment. The reviews are completed by PSART – Program Specialist for Assistive and Rehabilitation Specialist and TTI Engineers.

This is very important to me, and yes I'm working part time. I would love to work full time but with needs due to my condition, it doesnt allow the time i would need. My name is Rick Snyder of Arlington, Texas and I need your help. I’m looking for volunteers to help me plan a few fundraising events. I am fundraising for Help Hope Live via the South-Central Catastrophic Injury Fund to help purchase a wheelchair accessible van.I have the driver’s license, now I just need the vehicle!

I am looking for volunteers to help with phone calls, create letters, brochures and schedules, graphics for posters, distribute flyers, collect gift cards and raffle items. We will offer incentives for those who choose to be part of the team.

I was in an accident 20 years ago which left me a quadriplegic. I have managed to live, work, and get around as needed, but it is becoming increasingly difficult for me and my caregivers to transfer me and my equipment in and out of a regular vehicle.

Good morning to all. We here at are creating an opportunity for a resident in Arlington Texas. My name is Rick. Both client /event's contact for a campaign that the goal is to raise enough funds for handicapped accessible vehicle in which is desperately needed both for his transportation, as well as giving the ability to go back to work. Rick was rendered paralyzed as C6-c7 quadriplegic. "Yet has gone way above expectations to do for himself despite his disability. " As you may have guessed the modification + vehicle, are very expensive. Total cost of one can range from $70,000-$120,000. We have only raised $8000 thus far. The wonderful state of Texas will help with the costs of modifying such vehicle, as long as their expectations /requirements are met. Vehicle must be under 30,000 miles, paid for in full, no visible rust damage & Rick must pass the therapy /driving test issued by dps/mobility works. Everything test wise he completed, and exceeded expectations. So now we- Help Hope Live, Rick & his friends, family, church are all trying to raise the funds to cover the purchase of a Toyota van that is recommended by testing agents, due to equipment needs and standards.

These vans are unfortunately not cheap. Your assistance would be very appreciated. Ways you can help are;

The answer is yes, and I hope to be able to pay it forward in the future. Will you help me now, so that I can help someone else in the future?

Faith Without Works Is Dead

14 What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him? 15 If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food, 16 and one of you says to them, “Depart in peace, be warmed and filled,” but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit? 17 Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.

So I must do my part as well.

Bad accidents do happen to good people  It's what we do after that makes the difference both to the individual, and to those around them.

What will you do is the important question here? My accident was 20 years ago, now due to age and circumstances, I NEED YOUR HELP PLEASE!

OUR GOAL IS TO REACH 2,000$ a month till we reach our final goal to purchase the van equipped for my disability.

"A wheelchair van can cost anywhere from $40,000 to $100,000. Wheelchair van prices can be broken down into the price of the van itself and the cost of additional modifications. The cost of a van can range from $20,000 all the way up to $70,000. The cost of handicap van modifications ranges from $15,000 to $30,000."

Hello, my name is Rick Snyder; I don't know where to start this. So, I will begin with my accident. I was involved in a car accident that almost took my life. It has taken many years to reach the point that I have. During this time I have had many trips to the hospital, and even into nursing homes. I am considered a C6-C7 quadriplegic incomplete, (I am considered a quadriplegic due to my hands and being paralyzed from the chest down), with autonomic dysreflexia. During my 20 years of being in the wheelchair, I have learned to adapt and accommodate many of the obstacles in my life with the help of a lovely woman named Victoria, and friends and family. I am 45 years old and had my accident at the age of 26. As we all know equipment, vehicles and other adaptive aids for the handicapped are extremely expensive. Over the years I have been transferring in and out of vehicles the best I can.

Unfortunately, we don't get any younger. I have started this page in order to hopefully get enough funds together to purchase, or to have a handicap accessible van/vehicle donated, to get me places I need to go. This will not only just help me in being transported, but also conserve the health of myself and loved ones as I weigh 185 pounds. This is quite a bit of weight to help pick up and transfer on a regular basis!

A vehicle that can help in transporting me anywhere I need to go such as; doctor’s appointments, back to work, grocery store, post office, Social Security office, friends and family's home, and especially to Church. I have taken the driving test through D.A.R.S. and the state of Texas. Of which I aced it both times after the 3 day long test of driving, 6 hours each day. This test was a rigorous one with a Toyota Sienna van they provided, for the test. It accommodated my physical handicap with the use of ramp, swivel seat and hand controls, and a tripod attached to the steering wheel. The tripod attached to the steering wheel is an adaptive agent designed for me to be able to steer the steering wheel.

The hand controls are designed for my disability so that I can control acceleration and braking of the vehicle. The ramp is designed for obvious reasons, for me to be able to roll my chair up into the vehicle (this usually also requires a dropped floor according to Federal regulations). Then I position myself behind the driver seat.

The swivel seat usually referred to as a captain's chair, is designed for a person such as myself; to be able to transfer from the wheelchair into the driver seat. Vehicles that have these already on them are extremely expensive. Motor vehicles that you can buy with the equipment installed are even more expensive. Our fine government tends to make society believe that we have it made or that it's easy to obtain these things. This is not the case. I will not deny that some people do have an added advantage financially.  In the event that some individuals retain substantial amounts of money that came from lawsuits after their accidents.

However, that was not the case with my accident.  I have been reliant on our government for help since the accident. Because of my young age, I was not even eligible for regular disability. I am currently on Social Security Supplemental income, which allows for $502 as a monthly payment to pay for my bills, groceries and expenses. I am also on a P8- 11 program to help pay for my rent. So as you can see that is not much to go on. I am blessed never the less, so don't think I'm complaining. I have have family, a wonderful woman (whom I hope to marry), a nice quaint apartment, my life, and most important GOD who loves me. Not only that but I would like to thank the staff of this HELP HOPE LIVE non-profit organization, which has been a great help to me thus far.

We love because he first loved us. If anyone says, "I love God," yet hates his brother, he is a liar. For anyone who does not love his brother, whom he has seen, cannot love God, whom he has not seen.
