Danielle and I want to thank everyone again for the well wishes and support towards the purchase of our van. This has greatly improved my quality of life and made it possible to get to so many medical appointments. The next item that could similarly improve my quality of life is a better sleeping surface.
The mattress I've been using which is covered by insurance requires several body position changes through the night to prevent pressure ulcers which can lead to life-threatening infections. Using an alternating pressure and true low air loss mattress helps reduce the occurrence of pressure ulcers while reducing the need for bed turns. This allows more time for uninterrupted sleep which is needed for healing. A new true low air loss alternating pressure mattress is $1,000 - $6,000 and the more money we raise, the more reliable and durable it will be and with more safety features.
We wish you a happy holiday season and thank you for any year end gifts to our fundraiser you are able to provide.
